Once there was a boy named Rahul. He was very disappointed after getting his result because he failed again in his class. This happened third time with him. His parents were also disappointed with him. He thought he can’t do any more.
One day, when he was passing through the circus, he saw many elephants. He suddenly stopped, got confused by seeing the fact that these huge creatures (Elephants) were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. There are no chains, no cages.
It was obvious that the elephants could break that rope at anytime, run away from their bonds but for some reason they did not do. While he was thinking so,he saw a trainer nearby and decided to ask the trainer that why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.
To his question trainer replied that when they were very young we used the same size rope to tie them and, at that age it was enough to hold them and as they grow up, they are conditioned to believe that they cannot break away. They think that the rope is still holding them, so they never tried to break it.
Rahul was surprised by listening to the reason. These animals could at any time break their bonds but because they believe they couldn’t, they stuck right where they are.
Like elephants, most of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before
Rahul learnt a lesson from this and then he decided that he will do more hard work for getting good marks.Just because of failure’s fear he will not leave his study. He will continue it with more efforts and hard work. He did a lot of hard work and at last he got highest marks and became topper of his class.
“Failure is part of learning, we should never give up the struggle in life”.
